Camps for Child Burn Survivors

There are presently six camps for child burn survivors in Canada. Each camp is individually operated and supported by local or provincial groups.

In addition, there are almost 30 individually operated children’s camps in the USA.

Camps in other countries are becoming more popular (see International Links) and the Canadian Burn Foundation is very proud to be able to share our knowledge with these countries in an effort to make their camps a success.

As camps for child burn survivors continue to grow, the Canadian Burn Foundation is concentrating more effort on Young Adult Retreats (Youth Camps) and the Bi-Annual World Jamboree for Burned Children.

Should you require more information on camps for child burn survivors, please contact us and we will direct you to the camp nearest you.

Medical Programs

CBF has a Medical/Relief of Poverty program that can assist burn survivors in obtaining the proper medical care needed during their rehabilitation (i.e. after a skin graft special pressure garments have to be worn for up to two years). These garments are very expensive and are not always covered by provincial healthcare. CBF will assist in paying for garments or equipment as needed. For more information about these services please contact the Canadian Burn Foundation.

Computers for Burn Survivors

The Canadian Burn Foundation has a special computer program for burn survivors. Donated computers are available to allow internet access and assistance with school work. For many, these donated computers allow burn survivors to stay connected with other burn survivors. Computers are donated by corporations. As such, computers are completely functional but may not be “top of the line”. For more information about this service please contact the Canadian Burn Foundation.
